Open mic nights are perfect for singers/players who are looking for a friendly place to perform for the first time, or for more experienced musicians who want to try out new repertoire.
We run our own open mic nights which take place once a month at real live venues locally.
When is it? Our open mic night is run on the last Sunday of every month, this months is 27th May.
Where is it? The Red Lion
How do I get involved? Call or email us to book a slot in advance. We get busy so make sure you get your name on the list in plenty of time.
What should I perform? You can sing or play any song you like. We welcome everything from pop to jazz, classical and musical theatre. You’ll have a live audience so make sure you’re performance-ready before you sign up. Your private teacher will able to help you prepare.
How much can I sing? We limit slots to 2/3 songs per person, depending on how busy it is.
What about backing? We have a full PA set up with microphones. You can sing with backing tracks or play piano/guitar. If you are using backing tracks please have these in MP3 format on your own device (phone/iPod). A keyboard is provided if you want to play and/or sing. If you want to play guitar you will need to bring your own although we have leads.
What’s the age range? We welcome performers of all ages.
How much is it? Open mic nights are free to attend. You can buy drinks and food depending on the venue.
